statusbar - Android: Any simple way to get a completely transparent status bar? -


this question has been asked several times -- , answered, answers don't seem "add up".

yes, 1 can set android:windowtranslucentstatus true , set windowmanager.layoutparams.flag_layout_no_limits flag. (see android transparent status bar?) produces transparent status bar (in recent android releases). that's great!

the issue results in soft navigation bar being drawn on lower contents (e.g. controls) within one's activity. i've tried resolving fitsystemwindows, getting wrong. overall, seems quite wrong 1 has any of mess transparent vs. translucent status bar!
