performance testing - Why JMeter latency decreases but response times remain the same? -


as understand it, in jmeter:

latency = time when request sent until first response received.

response time = time when request sent, until full response received.

i have test i've been running (non gui mode) multiple times (exact same test every time), once without google cdn , 1 google cdn.

with google cdn, i've seen latency reduce approx 50% (from ~900ms ~450ms).

however, response time has stayed same.

i would've assumed response time reduce/increase same amount latency changes by?

has experienced this, or have ideas why response time has remained same?
